History of the Steel

From the earliest days after 9/11, steel from the destroyed buildings has held special significance in New York and beyond.

Rising over 1,368 feet into the sky, the twin towers at the World Trade Center Plaza represented a symbol of the triumph and strength of this country. Because of this, in the eyes and minds of those who mean to harm America, the towers became a target. This twisted mentality believed that if the towers were toppled, it would have the effect of crippling our country. Attempted first in 1993; it seemed that on 9/11/2001, that they had accomplished their goal. What they greatly underestimated is the resolve, strength and compassion of the American people.
