This is Porkchop…

Humans weren’t the only 1st Responders at Ground Zero.

On September 11, 2001, I volunteered at Ground Zero with my best friend Porkchop, a Search and Rescue Cadaver K-9. The cleanup took a total of nine months before every person left, hand in hand. The attacks caused unbelievable despair across America and much of the world...and yet, it also created a sense of unity. The feeling that:

"We. Are. One."

The memories of Ground Zero are seared into the minds of anyone who responded to "the call" as well as those who witnessed it from afar. 9/11/2001 will NEVER BE FORGOTTEN . We will always be united in our work to be there for each other as a Nation and a Family who looks out for each other in our most dire times of need.
