9/11 didn’t End In 2001

Our podcast tour is named in honor of Todd Beamer of Flight 93. His famous last words heard by over the phone by a customer service operator was “let’s roll” to his fellow passengers before they bravely marched to the cockpit of their hijacked plane. 9/11 Remembered has been embarking on a journey across America to discuss everything under the sun, especially topics regarding September 11, 2001 and the impact this important mark on history has had and continues to have on humanity worldwide to this day. INTERVIEW: Jerry Sanford

Jerry Sanford is a retired NYPD officer. He retired to Naples, FL where he became the PIO for Collier Co Fire Rescue. While serving there he formed the Gulf Coast Retired Firefighters Association. Through his work with this foundation and Collier Co the 9/11 Freedom Memorial was built in Naples.

INTERVIEW: Tracy Hejmanowski

Tracy Hejmanowski is a Clinical Psychologist who founded the First Responder Project. This foundation offers many avenues of help to the first responder community to help deal with the difficult problems with PTSD and suicide prevention within that community. He work is groundbreaking and crucial to help break down barriers the keep first responders from stepping forward and asking for help.

INTERVIEW: Johnny Barrerio

Retired NYPD Detective Johnny Barrerio was on his last 4 months in the NYPD when the terrorist attack on on America happened. Johnny was assigned to the rescue effort at Ground Zero and spent those last 4 months assisting in the rescue and recovery efforts. In this episode we talk about his time there and reflect on the many parallel experiences we went through while there at Ground Zero in 2001.

INTERVIEW: DAN COOK

Founder of the Part Time Patriot Project, Dan Cook is a single father who started a grassroots movement to change the way citizens can become more active within their local communities in regards to political decisions that are made by politicians who might not be actually serving the stakeholders of their community as they were elected too. Dan came up with a plan that gets the community to engage locally which ultimately translates into similar national issues as well.

INTERVIEW: Kristen Keene

Kristen Keene joins us in this episod to discuss her experience on that daunting day and how we can best remember those lost on 9/11 and those lost in the years following due Ground Zero dust.
